During the eighth century, a young Caledonia woman, Elaine is transformed into a vampire. She has become an unwilling participant in a war between the forces of heaven and hell. The War In Heaven - Novel
The War in Heaven is the origin story in the Martyrs series. This epic poem follows the plight of the greatest villain the world has ever known. Satan. Before Satan's fall from grace he was the brightest star amidst God's angels in heaven.
Inspired by Milton's Paradise Lost, The War in Heaven gives a different perspective than traditional stories. Told from Satan's point of view, Satan must try to understand why he has wronged his creator and justify his acts of defiance. Satan raises an army of rebel angels that attempt to overthrow God and achieve the one thing no angel has, free will.
Satan carries out several acts as he tries to foresee what God has planned. The discovery of the soul hidden away from the angels, inspires the invention of weapons to battle the angels of faith.

The second part of The War in Heaven, follows a lesser known character in the creation story. Lilith, the first bride of Adam in the garden of Eden, was made to be as strong, smart and dominant as her companion. However this balance in the garden causes Adam to go to God and beg him to make Lilith obey him.
God sends forth three angels to warn Lilith to be submissive to her husband. She ignores the warnings and is cast out of the garden and cursed by God.
The first woman suffers and must survive on her own. Lilith is a character of great mystery and intrigue and has in folklore played a large part in the destruction of men, women and children. She is also said to have ruled the unnatural creatures of this world. Most importantly, Lilith is said to be the creator and mother of all vampires. She plays an integral part in the Martyrs series.
Lilith - The Crimson Queen is an icon of women's independence and equality in the saga and shows that she is a force to be reckoned in all aspects of her being.
